RIP Sam Bottoms

Arbogast on Film offers a fine send-off for the actor, died too young (age 53) from brain tumor complications. His contributions to The Last Picture Show and Apocalypse Now are indelible. "Disneyland, fuck, this is better than Disneyland..."

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Bob. It's funny... what usually happens when somebody from the business dies is that I don't really know what to say or think I even have anything to say... and then in the process of noting the sad occasion, I find specific reactions and reflections follow. I guess that's why we need art so badly - it's like a time release medicine that comes to our aid when we think we have no reserves.
